Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) are highly skilled independent practitioners. As members of Women's Health Associates of Danbury and Southbury, we provide all prenatal care at our office located in the same building as our Connecticut Childbirth & Women's Center. We provide comprehensive prenatal care to our clients. Our appointments include education, physical assessments and plenty of time for questions, stories and just getting to know each other.
Care is provided on the same schedule as most obstetrical practices across the country. For the first several months you will be seen once a month. At 28 weeks we will see you every 2 weeks until you are 36 weeks. At this point you will be seen weekly.
We draw most labs at the office and will make referrals for ultrasounds or other testing as needed. You will be educated and offered appropriate testing at the appropriate time. Testing may include bloodwork, ultrasound, first trimester nuchal translucency screening, amniocentesis, AFP screening, glucose testing and culture for Group Beta Strep. In addition we are able to perform testing in office for those mothers who go past their due dates.
